Nobody really likes having to ask for permission. In many cases people do everything they can just to have control of their destiny. In countries where freedom is rare people even bribe government officials so that they can make their own decisions.
Americans tend to just do things. That's what freedom allows us to do. As long as it's legal and not hurting someone else it's a good thing to just do stuff.

Andro and feminine
The androgenous look is gaining more and more popularity.
Guys are turning themselves into eunichs by choice.
Why?
Is it because women are rising in power? Is it because of all the single-parent homes where the women are the strong only parent and the kids are growing up wanting to be more like them?
Is it because guys are looking for any way to win the competition of life and beocming more like a woman gives them an edge from their perspective?

Americans are giving
Americans give money to build walls and other countries.
When disasters like hurricanes or flooding strike in other countries Americans pour out money donating to try and help the people hurt by those disasters.
Americans send people around the planet trying to help them get to where they have a better life, more prosperous life, and yes, a more American life.
One of the country when the city's power grid is damaged to where the city has no electricity pulls up a nuclear aircraft carrier and plugs it into the power grid power the city?
What other country uses its military to deliver meals to people in other countries?
Americans are very giving. Americans personally donate more money to churches and charities than many countries do.
Americans give away methods on how to make money, how to improve yourself personally, and how to live a better life.
Americans welcomed strangers into their homes in an effort to get to know them, lift them up, and share life with them.

All these dystopias
In the 60s and 70s Utopias were written about. Cults were started. People were sold that a better life was "out there".
Fear tends to be a stronger motivator than hope. Maybe that's why we're seeing a glut of dystopias.
