Lawyers are a special type of person in our society. They think in ways that all of us think but then take it to a new level in their effort to help their clients, whether the client is human a corporate entity. Lawyers practice reading things and then arguing for and against outcomes based on what things say.
Lawyers help interpret laws developed by our governments and then translate those interpretations so that people not steeped in the law can go out and live their daily lives and not violate the law or know how to violate it without getting into trouble.
Lawyers are in a profession where they are sometimes called on to use words against people in an effort to control those people.
I respect lawyers. I love stories told by lawyers. I had a college professor that taught a night class on business law. He would come in, set his briefcase down, and then ramble on and on about the different cases he had been involved in, the clients and opponents he had worked with, and such. It was amazing!
I've also seen depictions of lawyers on TV and movies that were very unflattering. Liars, cheaters, twisters of words, users of the system only they knew and understood. Defenders of murderers and thieves. Twisters of intentions and legal terms.
Lawyers have filled our government. It's thought that if you're not a lawyer you really can't be a congressman or senator. Because you're dealing with laws you should be a lawyer and know how to deal with all that stuff.
Lawyers have taken us to a place where they forced the discussion of the words "to be". The word "is". The word "shall".
Always remember that these are the people that we elected to represent us. Don't be surprised when someone trained as a debater and trained to look for alternate definitions and interpretations of very simple words and phrases turns all of that on us and makes us do things based on something that just makes no sense at all to people that work for a living. People that drive for a living. People that cook and clean and raise children and push buttons and type in keyboards and develop programs and systems.
We think so differently from the people that we elected. The focus is so different in our different lives.
Remember that when you read the news and hear about what's being done in our government.

Invited to US ~
People in Central America when invited make their way towards the United States of America.
They do this because of the implied promise of benefits from the government. Healthcare in emergency rooms whose rules say you cannot turn anyone away. Money for food and clothing and shelter. Opportunities from the capitalist society to earn more money and be able to send it back to family that are still in a poor country with very little impact to the earning of money.
The trade-offs apparently are worth it. Parents put their children on trains or in trucks and cars with coyote smugglers who then take those children and sell them as slaves. While there are no cotton fields the slavery still exists.
Enemy countries see the porous border as an opportunity to send agents into the great Satan to prepare for the holy war they want to wage against us. More often than not those agents get in and get comfortable and decide they like the capitalist comforts of earning and spending.
Each of the states in our union continue to take illegal immigrants whether they want them or not. The federal government, created by the states in order to further unify them together, grows to the point where it wants to run everything and wants to eliminate the states.
More and more the illegal immigrants leave because they say this is the same as the country that we left. The same rhetoric, the same socialism, the same thing that led to my family getting killed in my Central American country, they say.
The United States of America is still great. It never lost its greatness. Many tarnish it, many despise it, but we continue to be the place where others want to be instead of where they are.
I don't see a whole lot of illegal immigration into China. Except from North Korea.
This is a phase. We will go through it and we will survive as a country of united states. I hope it doesn't lead to violence when somebody seemed to think.
