Commentary is everywhere

My wife and I recently went on a trip to see my daughter and son-in-law. We were going up there to go to a surprise birthday party for him, so we had to hide all we waited for the party. So that morning we went to the pool in the hotel we were staying in and swam for a little while.

After swimming we dried off and talked for a little bit and then we headed back to our room. We rode the elevator with a another younger couple. And while in the elevator the couple, but had been talking before we got on the elevator, sort of giggled and the guy made vomiting and his mouth sounds like he was disgusted.

I'm a sensitive guy that has a different tastes. When I swim I like to wear one of those square legged Speedo's so that my legs are unencumbered and I don't have to deal with flapping material all over the place. I was wearing that sort of bathing suit along with a tank top that covered most of it up. And being a sensitive guy it seemed like the young couple were making fun of me. And commenting on my legs and choice of bathing suit.

I've trained myself not to react to these things. I used to be that I would get very upset about this and go on and on about it. But this time I shrugged and thought to myself loser and moved on. But as I reflect on the situation it occurs to me that they were commenting on my being different from them.

In this time of the hammering of the American people over accepting others that are different from them it's interesting to experience firsthand discrimination and bigotry because of my choice of bathing suit. The lack of open-mindedness and acceptance is disappointing. But not unexpected.

You can have your opinion, but if I were to take the victim mindset like so many seem to be doing nowadays the bias against me and my kind is shocking.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
