In our land of the free and home of the brave it's very sad to watch the erosion of our first amendment rights.
In the United States of America the Constitution is very clear and enumerates lots of different things. The founding fathers felt the need to elaborate and had a way to amend the Constitution so they came up with the amendments. And they came up with rules on how to amendments to the Constitution so that we could be a land ruled by laws and not emotions or tyrants.
The First Amendment enumerates several different things that are not to be infringed on by government. Speech. Exercise of religion. Reporting by the press.
All of these rights are being eroded as we live in get further into the future and away from the founding of our country.
Were in a time now where the lawyers in our government can plausibly deny ever limiting speech while online companies restrict what we say and eliminate what we say. Courts have ruled that you have freedom of freedom of speech but you can't say certain things. Media outlets have shamed and ridiculed people for expressing very firm and positive beliefs by tying those beliefs to people that have done despicable things.
All of this is an effort to control a free people. As Americans we have freedoms that we don't even realize that we have. We have freedoms that we don't even exercise.
Be careful that you don't allow these freedoms to slip away so that you are tied down by beliefs and restrictions that are not based on our country's constitution and laws. In fact remember that these rights that are listed are not restrictions on people but restrictions on government. And as Americans we need to make sure and remind our government that we are free.
